My GIS career began with a Manatee Protection Plan for the marine industry, where we used mapping to determine safe locations for marina development. It was an early example of how spatial analysis can support real-world decisions — and in this case, it helped save manatee lives. I also worked on hurricane vulnerability mapping to support emergency management planning, identifying high-risk areas and helping protect vulnerable communities during severe storm events.

Later, I moved into the private sector, working with companies like Toys “R” Us, Gap, and Burger King on site selection and forecasting. I’ve also worked across the transportation industry, helping teams manage infrastructure and improve field operations.

Today, I build custom GIS applications for golf course maintenance, condo associations, and municipal inspections — all focused on making mapping more practical, efficient, and field-ready.
